Top Pages

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The status code of Top Pages in Link Explorer isn't a live query of your site. This data comes from our Link Index and the information we gathered the last time we attempted to crawl and access those pages. If they have been updated/changed since we last crawled those pages, those updates won't be reflected in your backlink data in Link Explorer until we attempt to crawl those pages again. Read more about how we index the web.
  • If you're seeing a 403 status listed in your Top Pages report, this typically indicates that our index crawler, dotbot, is being blocked on a server level from accessing your site. To resolve the issue, please verify that dotbot is fully whitelisted with your server.
  • The status codes noted in Top Pages are based on the last time our index crawler, dotbot, crawled those pages and is separate from your Campaign’s weekly site crawl updates. Since Top Pages is not a live check of the pages listed, you may see status codes that are different than those reported in your weekly Site Crawl. Once dotbot recrawls those pages, the status codes will update accordingly.
