Is it alright to make use of Schema for a questions and answer structure if they questions are all brand specific?

Like common Q&As about your products or company ?

Are will Google potentially consider this spammy?

@SearchStan I am currently reading about schema for this exact purpose and the schema specifically says QAPage and Question and Answer tags should only be used where there is only one question and multiple answers to that question on the page, and specifically says it should not be used for an FAQ. I do not know how Google would view this though but would be interested to find out, what was your experience with it?

I am actually looking schema tags that can be used for my website, including an FAQ. It's quite tricky.

            Hi there,

If the questions and answers are related to your company then you should be fine since you are trying to improve customer experience. Google should not consider that spammy.

            Ross

How to work with schema.org together with Wordpress

Hi schema.org seems to be quite simple when working with a plain HTML website. You just look up the code you need on schame.org and implement it in the HTML file as required. But when using Wordpress things become more complicated. I have to use plugins for schemata and then I can only use the schemata that exist in those plugins which are very limited. How do you deal with this issue? Cheers Marc

Acceptable use of availability attribute 'preorder' value in rich snippets schema markup and Google Shopping feed?

Hello all, Could someone please advise on acceptable use of the availability attribute 'preorder' value in rich snippets schema markup for our websites and the Google Shopping feed? Currently all of our products are either 'in stock' or 'out of stock', also mentioned was 'available for order' but I found that in the 2014 Google Shopping update, this value will be merged with 'in stock' here 'We are simplifying the ‘availability’ attribute by merging ‘in stock’ with ‘available for order’ and removing ‘available for order’. The products which we would like to mark as 'preorder' have been in stock and then sold out, however we have a due date for when they will come back into stock, so therefore the customer can preorder the product on our website i.e. pay in advance to secure their purchase and then they are provided with a due date for the products. Is this the correct use of the 'preorder' value, or does the product literally have to never have been released before? The guidance we have is: 'You are taking orders for this product, but it’s not yet been released.' Is this set in stone? Many thanks in advance and kind regards.

              Schema Training

What is the best way to familiarize myself with schema and updating it on the website. I know it is important and I understand the concept. It's the implementation and actual mark-up that I struggle with. Are there certifications or courses I could take that would teach me implementation techniques? Is there a blog or person I should follow that is awesome at explaining it?

              Schema.org for LocalBusiness v. Webpage

I am adding schema.org markup for some clients and I am running into an issue.  Specifically the site I am working on uses a child theme for Genesis 2.0.  Genesis 2.0 added schema.org markup by default to all pages.  If I want to change the markup on the home page to a LocalBusiness should I remove ALL other schema.org markup on there for the website (marking nav as nav , header as header, etc)?  Or can I leave the markup as a webpage and just add the local business markup as well? When I look at it in the testing tool in GWMT, it just shows the webpage markup not the LocalBusiness markup.  You can take a look here: http://blueskyrestoration.com. Thanks in advance for your help!

If you have multiple schema types on a page, which Rich Snippet will display in Google?

We currently have product schema on product pages and will now be adding video schema to our product pages. According to Google they state you can have multiple schemas on a page, do you know if you have a product schema and a video schema which rich snippet will display in Google?

Are micro formats and schema.org a worthwhile investment of my time?

Hi all, I recently watched this webinar http://www.seomoz.org/webinars/microformats-real-life-use-cases and it was very good, but I'm not entirely certain if this is a worthwhile thing to be doing? I have a couple of websites I'm improving the SEO on, and things are slowly picking up but I'm not sure if I should be spending time working on improving my landing pages (once these have been identified) or working on the code side of improving my SEO position. When improving my landing pages I'm asking myself the following questions: What is this page about? (Is it clear through headings or introduction text / imagery Does the page sell the benefits of the product / service in a clear manor? Does the page explain what the product is all about? Is the information easy to read, well positioned on-screen and is the content optimised for 1, maybe 2 distinct keywords. Is there an easy method of communication to the site owner if the visitor is interested in the product or service and wants either a quote or wants to find out more. Are there a few links to other relevant areas of the site Granted at the moment I'm in the process of teasing the relevant information out of the client but that's like trying to get blood out of a stone, so I'm exploring other avenues, while they get more content. I am considering going down the route of guest blogging, to possibly get a one-way followed backlink, but again this seems like a lot of effort with no clear guarantee if my efforts in doing this will pay off in being able to generate more leads / enquiries from the websites. Would anyone like to share their thoughts on this?
