Google relies heavily on the link patterns from a website’s referring domains to judge the website and then rank it in order of relevance. Remember that Google is investigating the quality of links at a much deeper level than before. Therefore, domains with obviously spammy links will get knocked down in the DA ratings.
Moz has stated that the new algorithm can better detect spammy links and therefore devalue them.

This will ideally lead to a large drop in Domain Authority for link sellers’ spammy domains.

@dailynewshelp , yes. may be because of google update, your rankings go down. so try to improve the content based on the first page rankers. find out the opportunities from competitors those who are ranking in first page for your targeted keywords. make sure that content is fresh. Try to backlinks from High DA and less spam score websites. Give good page experience to the user.

@Matt-M is absolutely correct about links not being the only factor but good quality links will move your DA in most tools. However, as most people have said it is not the best metric to be looking at.

I recently have done a super relevant link building campaign on a client site that had a DA of 3 for the past 3 years with literally no movement, they had around 100 referring domains mostly from foundation links and low authority sites. In the last 30 days I created only another 70 referring domains but all were super relevant with various levels of authority. in those 30 days the DA from my tool has increased to 16.

Although this is meaningless as it does not neccessarily convert to rankings or visitors by itself, rather the link building campaign has helped rankings. I guess if you were looking to sell a domain/site you might care about this number i cannot see any other benefit to it.

The number of backlinks is not the only factor for determining domain authority, The quality of backlinks is much more important than the quantity of them. For example if you make thousands of backlinks from low quality websites and weblogs, it doesn't have much effect on your ranking. Search engines can detect overlinking from special domains, low quality links and etc. The best suggestion would be trying to do everything naturally. And SEO needs you to be patient. You can't expect immediate or within weeks results in many cases especially for new domains.

I was facing the same thing few months back with Apk Mortgage, but then suddenly my DA got increased a bit after few time. So, it might be a better practice to create High Quality Backlinks instead of waiting for getting the DA increased!

The DA score doesn't really mean anything. You shouldn't be focusing your time or energy on it. It's a fake number that SEO tools come up with as a best guess. Nothing wrong with using it as a guide but it doesn't really matter if it goes up or down. It does not correlate to any actual number that Google may have for your website. It's the tools best guess as to how Google might view your site. Focus on individual keywords, how they are ranking and what kind of traffic you are getting. Those are things you actually have control of and can see real data on.

Under more information it has a real link to my site. What is this? I noticed the domain authority was in I believe the 70's; but PA was in 40's. I am new, so can someone explain this. Thank you. example below:

How to get rid of bad backlinks

off-page seo seo backlinks spam score

So I noticed my rankings going down and spam score going up. So under my spam score there are over 100 links for different websites but ALL redirect to semalt.com I researched it and it says they hijacked a bunched of backlinks but don't know much more. How can I get rid of all those backlinks? I was told I could use the disavow tool but apparently that can hurt my ranking as well. The semalt.com site has no backlink to me - it looks like the pages that have/had my backlinks, they've redirected to them. For instance this is one of the links http://www.oxvideos.xyz/indianantyphotoxxx 422005fb-9240-40a4-8b65-f5b1f5079dea-image.png

Hi, I have launch a new website, lorraine on october of 2021 and I have added it to a bunch a local and national directories to improme it local rankings. But when I get the domain authority and link data from MOZ it has only ten links and no one of them is from local/national directories. I have three questions: Do you know if it is normal that after 9 months DA is 1? Is there any problem with local/national directory links? I dont like buy links like others do but it seems the only way to improve domain authority and rankings.

I'm new to MOZ and thought I'd try it out free for 30 days, knuckle down and fix any issues with my website since I only set it up in January and want to keep it in tip top condition and try to get it ranking. Well, I made my way through each page and fixed everything and then I come to in the inbound links/domains and my eyes turn into saucers and I almost fall off my chair. I have 1 inbound link with a spam score of 78% from a site named "Nitter". How on earth do I get rid of this and what the heck is "Nitter"?!

                                                Unsolved Domain Authority Not Changed?

                                                moz

The domain authority has not changed for a few months; even I got some high-quality links from authority sites, and Moz has not crawled them yet? Can someone tell me how much time it generally Moz takes to crawl new links for a domain and update DA?

Unsolved Moz doesn't find backlinks for months / link tracking list offline

link tracking list link explorer backlinks domain authority

                                                Hi there
I want to share a big problem with you. Moz tracking list seems to be offline or having trouble finding links. I have an example:
The page where the backlink has been placed was created months ago. As you can see on the picture:
Link to the page is http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/profile/tableauxdumonde
Backlink on that page is https://ggongtime.com/ Picture shows clearly that the page of backlink (Microsoft) has been indexed and already has got it's own backlinks in Moz (8) but it is still not linking to the backlink website (ggongtime.com).
I've also attached a picture of page source where you can clearly see that it is a html link and is dofollow.
The problem remains since 3 months and I want to find out what is going on. This Microsoft page is one of example. There are hundreds of other pages being found, or not, and are still not showing up in Link Explorer on website's portfolio.
I want to know if there is a technical problem with link explorer, or anything else, because this is a serious problem for me. moz problem.png

                                                DA PA issue

da pa domain authority page authority

The DA and PA of my site have a huge difference.
I know DA is Domain Authority and PA is Page authority.
But is this normal to have 5 DA and 17 PA?
Is my site having some sort of issues or is it normal?
