There's no such thing as a "SEO plugin" ... It's just an addition that adds basic functionality wordpress in the first place lacks, such as a independent title, description per page. But did you know google can read and determine the page or website on it's own without the help of a plugin doing all that?

                    All in one SEO plugins:

                    Yoast
                    Rank math
Rank math has an interesting feature.
Internal Link suggestions – Rank Math will suggest other content on your site to link to while you’re working in the editor.

I advise installing both Yoast and Rank math, especially if you plan to use them for free. Each has some unique features.

                    Plugins to boost website performance:
Ewww Image Optimizer - all you need to make your images load faster.

Asset Cleanup - increase website speed by removing render-blocking resources. For example, you can remove unnecessary javascript or CSS files from loading from certain pages. Be careful with this plugin, or ask the developer to help.

Plugin Organizer is easier for users than Asset Cleanup. For example, you can disable contact forms everywhere except for a contact page.
we used yoast and love it

Wp Total Cache - browser caching, CDN, minifying and deferring CSS and javascript files.

I find these plugins very helpful.

For me personally, the best seo plugins are:
                        WP Rocket
                        XML-sitemap from google
                        WP Rocket
The fewer plugins, the better for site speed)))

Great advice regarding site speed and plugins to optimise the speed of the site.

I have a client that purchased Yoast Premium and later Rank Math Premium. We found that when both were installed both nagged about the other being installed.

Worse still Rank Math initially disabled Yoast Premium and Redirections when it was enabled.

I tend to favour Yoast as having been around for longer and is understood by more people which can help is using freelancers to optimise content.

I also have an issue that Rank Math disabled the "Redirections" plugin with no attempt to import the redirects that this plugin was implemented.

                                Hope this helps

Ewww Image Optimizer - all you need to make your images load faster.

Asset Cleanup - increase website speed by removing render-blocking resources. For example, you can remove unnecessary javascript or CSS files from loading from certain pages. Be careful with this plugin, or ask the developer to help.

Plugin Organizer is easier for users than Asset Cleanup. For example, you can disable contact forms everywhere except for a contact page.

Wp Total Cache - browser caching, CDN, minifying and deferring CSS and javascript files.

I find these plugins very helpful.

Static content pages ranking dropping all the time

rankings seo rankings seo on page optimization on-page

Hello all. I have been working three months in my current job in the hotel industry. I have been publishing a lot of content to our website (mainly articles), which in general have been ranking well and really boosted our website traffic. The problem that I am facing, though, is the fact that our static pages' rankings are basically constantly dropping. Especially one of our main pages, which is this hotel page. I haven't been doing any real changes to the content, but the ranking (with keywords "hotelli helsinki" [Hotel in Helsinki in Finnish]) has plummeted from 13th position all the way down to 19th... What has been happening during these last three months is that we did change to a new domain and we have done all the redirections and also informed Google about this change through search console. I have also done some minor changes to the on-page content, such as changing the meta titles and descriptions as well as the page title and some of the text content to more natural ones instead of clumsy SEO texts and optimizing the images. This hasn't helped at all though and the rankings seem to steadily drop all the time. What would YOU do with this page? Maybe add more text content to the page to be more informative? All tips would be highly appreciated.

How do you report SEO audit findings?

                                            seo audit reporting

Hello, Mozzers! I'm curious to know how you report SEO audit findings. Do you use a spreadsheet? A presentation? A formal report? Or maybe something else. If you have a favourite audit template, I'd love to see it. A second question: what things do you report in an audit? I currently report crawl findings, authority and trust, link profiles, and competitive analysis. I also investigate a site's security—that's not usually part of an audit, but site owners need to know about it. What do you report to your audit customers? Thanks for sharing your auditing wisdom!

Wordpress Blog, Schema and Authorship Settings

Hi Everyone, What is the best practice for authorship in 2018 and going forward? I am moving my entire blog over to a new wordpress theme so it's easier to read and navigate in an attempt to make it look better on the mobile and give better UX / CRO and implicit user feedback signals to google. On the old blog I would say who the author is in the URL, H1 and in the content.  This includes an image of the author with an image alt with their name, qualifications and blurb. I've now set up each author as a 'user' for the new blog and their image and name comes up because I've marked those blogs as authored by that particular user in Wordpress. What should I do as far as the SEO elements are concerned? I have read Eric Enge's blog about authorship being dead here and also that authorship should be marked up in schema correctly - which I've done.  Also I've read around how it provides indirect signals even though it's no longer a direct ranking factor. Should I tell wordpress to ignore the authorship SEO element by unticking the boxes relating to publishing authorship or let wordpress just do it's thing?  Should I keep the images and alt tags and H1 in there or take them out and let the wordpress system take over the authorship SEO elements? It's going to look funny to have author (in wordpress theme) and then author details again just below? So what is the best practice for authorship in 2018 and going forward? Am I making too big a deal of it and can just let wordpress sort it out.  Something it seems to do very well? Thanks in advance, Ed.

                                            Keyword Tool Best Practices

VERY much a newbie with MOZ Pro (10 days into my 30-day trial), so for that, I apologize. I just want to get an idea of the time needed to accumulate data for keywords, and if I am doing all this right. I'm guessing this...use the tool and enter as many keyword possibilities as I can come up with for my website. Then wait a week or so. Then make a keyword decision. Is this the recommended or best practice? If it makes a difference, my website pertains to a local onsite service that I provide. Any web traffic more than 50 miles of my physical location would be a waste. My 1 on 1 session with Seun was great, but now I need to put it all together and make some traffic happen! Any other ideas, please throw them my way. If I'm completely off-base with this, feel free to send insults!

Does having an embedded Google Map still count as a positive SEO signal?

I know this was true a few years ago, however is there still an advantage to having an embedded map vs. a pop up map in 2017?

Best SEO Option for Multi-site Set-up

Hi Guys, We have a Business to Business Software Website. We are Global business but mainly operate in Ireland, UK and USA. I would like your input on best practice for domain set-up for best SEO results in local markets. Currently we have: example.com (no market specified) and now we are creating: example.com/ie (Ireland) example.com/uk (united kingdom) example.com/us (united states) My question is mainly based on the example.com/us website - should we create example.com/us for the US market OR just use example.com for the US the market? If the decision is example.com/us should we build links to the directory or the main .com website. To summarize there is two questions: 1. Advise on domain set-up 2. Which site to build links to if example.com/us is the decision. Thank you in advance, Glen.

Can a localization web design update hurt SEO?

Hi mozzers, Me and my team are having a major website refresh and update for one of our client's. The structure of the website can be divided into 2 types of pages: corporate pages(representing the core services of the company which rank nationally) and microsite pages(representing each and every 30+ franchise locations ranking locally). Right now when you visit the Seattle microsite page you have localization feel but the main nav(of corporate site) remains at the top on top of the subnav(orange under map) which is customized for the location where you are in. My colleague who is the main person in charge of this website update would like to create a better localization experience for users in specific cities by having one main navigation instead of 2 displaying exactly the same pages displayed on the actual subnav (actual microsite)  (images are below of actual and potential look of the website). FYI: URLs will remain the same. I really like this idea of a more personalized experience but I am afraid that the local seo strategy we have done so far may be jeopardized because of this new design but i am not sure.  Am I right? Are we going to lose national and/or local rankings? Will this fresh design hurt the SEO we have been doing for the past few years? It would be great to provide me "best practice" tips to follow for this case as far as what are the steps I should be paying attention... Thank you guys! ktJrsNx.png Boq4Pvt.png
