My Moz spam score is 7%, I think this is due to loads of spam links from a website theglobe.net/the_worlds_most_visited_web_pages_262/ which appeared in the last month.

It is a paid inclusion site so not sure how my website got included with a link 654306.freedomltd.com. I have contacted them to be removed but not heard anything yet.

The link is showing 768 times from different versions of the same site. Is there anything else I should do?

Realmente este spamer es muy molesto, pero según veo en mi seach console, Google no toma en cuenta sus backlinks así que no debería preocuparnos.

            Hello my website is www.seodekho.com
I just buy a fresh domain and even not create a single backlink in the last 2 or 3 years Moz is still showing 33 backlinks. Suddenly (In the last 2-3 months) my spam score increased to 22, I don't know why. Now I want to know how can I decrease my spam score to 1.

You can get a quick list of (currently 917) domains in the globe network at the url below which I found by googling the following:

                inurl:the_worlds_most_visited_web_pages

                http://www.theglobe.bet/the_worlds_most_visited_web_pages-txt.txt

I have about 2.800 backlinks from this net of websites. They charge you to remove the backlinks from them. So I think this is their business. I think the best option is disavow in the Google search console.

We too are seeing thousands of links from these domains and are going to use disavow.

Has anyone ever actually paid the guy and gotten their link removed? I'm on 1000s of variations of the guys page. Checked that delete link page linked above, and it goes straight to a paypal checkout, no place to put the domain you'd like to remove... I foresee a PayPal dispute in my future should I go that route...

However, if it could be removed from all the variations... that would feel great....

I have had the same experience staring from last year but the number of links has steadily increased. It is all from sites related to "the globe"

                        http://theglobe.se/start/

It seems like a spamming tool. Also as my spam score increased some of my rankings dropped. Hard to correlate directly but I would like to know who is behind this.  I have used disavow tool (about 2 weeks ago)but not gained in rankings as yet...

I also would like to follow on this thread as my site has been listed  to http://internetsearch.com/the_worlds_most_visited_web_pages_311.html and generated a lot of backlinks to the similar directory. I would like to remove it or should I just let it stay there?

I also have a ton of these links from TheGlobe and their sister sites. I'm also getting links coming from spammy photo gallery sites that link to our photos with a "." in the anchor text. I have similar concerns that they are hurting our backlink profile, so I started disavowing them in in Google Search Console. I can't say I have seen much of a change in rankings based on it, however.

                              Hey Michael,

If you have no luck getting it manually removed and you think it's harming your website, you may need to consider using Google's disavow tool.

However saying that, Google has said fairly recently that you should really only use the tool if you get a manual action.

Google is pretty good at knowing what are spammy links and it's probably already disregarded them. As for your Moz spam score, I think Meghan has that covered for you 🙂

                              I hope that helps somewhat.

                              Cheers,
                              Casey

                                Hi there!

Thanks so much for the great question! When it comes to digging into your Spam Score, we have a great resource in our Help Hub which breaks down all the factors which go into determining that score. I would definitely recommend checking it out as this may help offer some extra guidance on why your spam score is what it is. You can find that resource here: https://moz.com/help/guides/link-explorer/spam-score

The percentage you’re seeing is indicative of the percentage of sites with similar features to the site you’re researching in Link Explorer which have been penalized by Google. Since the Spam Score metric is based on correlation instead of causation, the solution may not necessarily be to to change factors on your site. There are many different factors which come into play when calculating and assessing Spam Score so this tool is really meant to be used as a way to identify what links you may want to investigate and factors on your site you may want to consider looking into.

As far as next steps to take after having reached out to the site you’re concerned about, I may not be the best person to answer. I’m so sorry about that! I do hope that the info above helps to answer your other questions, though! If you have additional questions about our tools, please feel free to send an email on over to help@moz.com! 😄

I am trying to run a site crawl for my website and MOZ is only resulting in 1 page crawled with the home page URL Status Code of 301. However when I run it in httpstatus.io it is giving me a 403 status error. Im curious as to why MOZ is saying its a 301 and httpstatus.io is saying 403.    Is there anything I can do in MOZ first to get the site crawled before asking my developers to look into the 403 error?

Deleting old obsolete pages from the Page Grades section?

Last year we did a total site overhaul, moving from an old ASP site setup to a new WordPress set up. I notice that there are still a handful of old ASP pages being graded still - and turning up as F of course. I tried marking them and deleting them, but hitting delete makes the check box clear, but does not remove the page. How do I get them totally out of grading circulation? Also, some of the links are showing with session info and extra unnecessary characters - how can I clean those links up?

Hi there, I have just used the On Page Grader on this page: -removed- and checked the grade for the following keywords together: wedding venues bath The On Page Grader has found 15 instances on the page for this keyword. When i view the page source and ctrl-f and search for ''wedding venues bath'', it only finds 8. Is there an issue with the On Page Grader atm?

Understanding Onsite Elements and Moz's Onpage Grader

I'm currently helping a friend with his website. One of the pages I am targeting for his business is: http://stalbansdentist.com.au/dentist-cairnlea/ The main keyword this page is targeting will be "dentist cairnlea" (Cairnlea is a suburb near Melbourne, Australia) To perfect onsite optimization, I've used the Moz Onpage Grader. Generally, its straightforward, but I have encountered some issues... Appropriate Use of Rel Canonical The page does have the following tag: <link rel="<a class="attribute-value">canonical</a>" href="http://stalbansdentist.com.au/dentist-cairnlea/" />. I thought this would suffice. What exactly do I need to do to fix this critical problem? Appropriate Characters in the URL I don't understand this one. The URL has completely appropriate characters. Why does Moz Onpage Grader insist that URLs here need to be appropriated? No More Than One H1 Tag There appears to be only one H1 tag on this page. Is Moz just wrong on this one or perhaps a little delayed? There were 2 H1 tags before one was deleted and a recheck done with this problem remaining on Moz's onsite check. Any assistance here on these 3 points and just understanding the Moz Onpage grader would be appreciated!

Moz reporting appropriate Canonical tag usage but no canonical tag on page !?

I take it this means that the page in question has been referenced via a different pages canonical tag but that the page in question itself does not have a self referencing canonical tag (and that it should do) cheers dan

Is it no longer possible to export the On-Page grader reports?

Hi Everyone, I was just trying to export the On Page Grader report for my clients website, and found that there is no longer that option. Is this a permanent change with the new branding? Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks very much.
