Hey guys I hope everyone is doing well. I am new to SEO world and I want to do local SEO for one of my clients. The issue is I do not know how to do Local SEO at all or where to even start. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me or give me an article or a course to learn how to do it.

      Main question

The thing that I want to do is that, I want my website to show up in top 3 google map results for different locations(which there is one actual location). For example I want to show up for
online clothing store in new york
online clothing store in los angeles or...

Let's assume that we can ship our product to every other cities. So I hope I could deliver what I mean. I'd appreciate it if you could answer me with practical solutions.

The first thing you have to do is to place information on the location on the website, and have the name of the city/region in the titles.

Then you will have to promote yourself in local groups. Facebook groups in the area, local sites and local registries.

I think what we did with https://practicebloom.com/ was a great idea. We were in the dumps completely and then we started running some very aggressive posting, like 10 times a day in Facebook, tik tok and other socials with a link back to our site, it pushed our traffic up from 50 to 500 hits a month and brought up all our keywords. I know it sounds off base, but it's a popularity contest with Google. Aggregate traffic is Key!

You can do multiple location SEO using the following steps:

              1. Sign in to Google My Business and access your dashboard
              2. Go to the “Add business” drop-down menu
              3. Click “Import Businesses”
              4. Download the given template, fill out all the information for your locations, and import
              5. Verify all listings

Submit your verification form and wait for Google for approving it.

I hope you found my answer useful. I have also written a blog on local SEO which you can check here:

I'm not sure what but I feel like you might have a technical issue.
You got about 23k backlinks but they are all from 500 different IPs and 543 unique domains. So your backlinks are extremely suspicious.
You may want to check with the search console. You do not normally get penalized because of the backlinks but they may have removed the effects of those backlinks. So if you only rely on the backlinks as your ranking factor, you might not rank anymore and there is no easy way to tell if you didn't get penalized.
Here is a short article for you to read to learn how to rank without owning thousands of backlinks.
                Good luck

Good afternoon Keneth, something is happening to me with my AvendanoDesign. I have always come out in the first places in google for more than 20 years and a few months ago the index simply disappeared from the search and now only the external pages are positioned. do you have any idea how to fix it?

your comments would be very helpful for me

9 Quick Tips from a St Louis Digital Marketing Agency

Everyone is interested in online presence management these days, and there are tons of resources to learn about it. But at some point, you need to transform that enthusiasm into results. If you’re looking to grow your business online and not ready to hire professional digital marketing agencies yet, here are 9 tips to get you started on your own:

Research your top competitors, solve their marketing strategy, and make something better:

Embrace the competition! It is well known that the best way to learn is by doing, but how do you figure out the best way to do things? We will tell you that you do not need to re-invent the wheel. The best way to answer this question is to do the research and find out what your competitors are doing so you can find out where you fall short. Many people do not view competition as a friend, but rather as a threat to their business. While this may create a negative relationship with your competitors, it is still vital to understand their perspective and how this information can be used to build a better business.

SEO tools, that SEO agencies are using, to run your competitor research may cost from a few hundred dollars a month to a few thousand dollars but Google is a really good free alternative to use if you know how to use it.

Let’s say we are a plumbing company in St Louis, We have our website but trying to see what other people doing in our industry. A simple Google search can provide the answer.

Well for local SEO, first optimize your site and as well as your competitor's site then you will get a brief idea of what to add as per your local cities. The next thing is GMB (Google My Business) for absolute local SEO, create your profile as per locations, add events about your business, add products, add services that you are providing.

Insert your main keyword with the city name in the GMB while publishing your services or products it may help you in ranking.

                          Thanks and Cheers
                          Zaid

To stand out in the Local Map Pack, you are going to need to have a very well optimized profile. There are many articles, like this one https://coalitiontechnologies.com/blog/how-to-optimize-your-google-my-business-location, with tips on how to do that.

However, the Google My Business Profile mostly only helps you rank in the local area. If you have your physical store in New York, you can rank in the map pack for New York related queries, but not likely for other cities like Los Angeles.

Since you can deliver the products to other locations though, you could try utilizing the Service Areas feature to add in a list of cities the business serves. This may help to achieve what you are describing for some low competition search queries, however it doesn't guarantee that you will rank in the Local Map Pack for other cities since you don’t have a dedicated location there and more relevant and authoritative businesses in those cities will easily outrank you.

If it's not important necessarily what is ranking (organic search result or a map pack result), there is always the option to create several landing pages on the store’s website that are optimized for your desired local search terms (online clothing store in: los angeles, miami, atlanta, chicago, etc.)
Again, you’ll be competing with everyone else to get those top ranking positions, but that would be one way to try to get there. Good luck!

Hello there! You've come to the right place. Local SEO hinges on the physical location of your business and its customers. If you have a physical store in NYC, you can work towards competing for visibility in Google's local packs for users and queries surrounding that city. If you have a physical location in LA, same story.
What you can't do is hope your NYC store will show up for users in LA. Local search doesn't work that way. Rather, you'd need to pursue organic rankings and paid advertising in markets where your business lacks a physical location.
_Moz just published the Essential Local SEO Strategy Guide, which will teach you all the basics of local SEO for free! Hope it helps: _https://moz.com/local-seo-guide

I need help on how best to do a complicated site migration. Replacing certain pages with all new content and tools, and keeping the same URL's. The rest just need to disappear safely. Somehow.

I'm completely rebranding a website but keeping the same domain. All content will be replaced and it will use a different theme and mostly new plugins. I've been building the new site as a different site in Dev mode on WPEngine. This means it currently has a made-up domain that needs to replace the current site. I know I need to somehow redirect the content from the old version of the site. But I'm never going to use that content again. (I could transfer it to be a Dev site for the current domain and automatically replace it with the click of a button - just as another option.) What's the best way to replace blahblah.com with a completely new blahblah.com if I'm not using any of the old content? There are only about 4 URL'st, such as blahblah.com/contact hat will remain the same - with all content replaced. There are about 100 URL's that will no longer be in use or have any part of them ever used again. Can this be done safely?

Why does some sites rank with no seo

Why is it that some site rank with zero efforts? I have been working on some seo for a while on my main site and i have been getting more info competition analysis with sem and moz. Looking at the states from this website which tends to popup often in the searches on page 1-2 before my site. This site is not keyword optimized, meaning they arent even trying to rank.
There is no content, articles etc.,
6 backlinks (nothing powerful just 2 directory links and 2 from developer)
Site really isnt even designed to get traffic as its a trade only ecommerce website
I doubt they are hiding anything as far as backlinks etc. as it will get them too many visitors they dont want
The city i am searching isnt even on the page (it is a city within a city so maybe google still relates it)
PA 24 DA 15 Now my site:
                                  Optimized reasearched keywords
                                  175 backlinks
All my main pages have content with images, alt tags, internal linking
full of content, blogs, videos, products (probably 4000, could a site being too big be an issue?)
                                  Site gets regular updates
                                  I probably have 200 citations
All the social media which gets done often
PA 32 DA 20 They do get a good bit of traffic but that is probably the only thing i would see but it would be direct traffic mostly i believe as it would be people going to order regularly since it is a print reseller. They may have some age on me 15 vs 8 years. Could it be some kind of penalty i am not sure about lingering? According to what i know to check everyything looks ok, no shady links accoding to sem. I am working more and more on all the pages but this competittion site really doesnt have crap going on probably 8 pages and 1 page does all the ordering. What the hell does google want from me exactly!

                                  Website/SEO Audit Needed

We've been outsourcing our link building to India for the past 3 years and the results were pretty good up until beginning of this year. What they were essentially doing is putting links into directories, a few per month, and posting a few articles per month. Out of our top 10 keywords, 8 got into top 10. Then something happened around Jan 1 last year, our ranking started dropping, falling out of the top 50, before settling around 20-30ish. We disavowed most of the low quality links since then. Also, very odd, all the top ranking competitors all fell (including me) and were replaced by less "specialized" companies who sold a broad range of products (for example: all parts of the car, rather than someone who just focused on mufflers). Theres also other differences but again I can't put a finger on it. I'd like to find someone who can do a detailed audit of our site, and our competitors, what happened to cause the drop, and why the new top positions sites are ranked high. And I really don't have time to do an audit myself. Our site is American Hospitality Furniture dot com. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

                                  Indirect SEO boost from links

I have 2 ecommerce sites, each with a blog. I am increasing my linkbuilding efforts, but I don't want to build too many links directly to my 2 sites over a short period of time. I have decided that I will add a certain number of links to sites/pages that are already linking to my main sites (for example, a blog post on my blog, guest post on another blog, article submission, etc.). How much of a benefit can I expect in terms of rankings? Has anyone tested this out or experimented with something like this? What are the pros and cons? I appreciate thoughtful comments.

What are the bing only SEO tactics?

Recently we realised that our client's SERPs were almost always lower on Bing.com and Bing (canada) when comparing with Google.com and Google.ca We want to know if there's different ranking or blocking factors for Bing and if someone had similar expriences. It would also be appreciated if you have releavent and trusted information on this topic, from blog posts, forums, etc. What are your thoughts on this?

                                  SEO for Log in Sites

Hello, I just lunched a website where you have to sign up and to log in in order to use it. So I have the home, also a blog but then the rest of the pages are let's say it "hidden".How would you do the seo for it? I have been cheking facebook, foursquare and some others and they use different approaches. Facebook uses the same description in every single page for example. My site is similar to foursquare users have profile, stats, history, ranking. Well, what is your advice?? Thanks a lot
