Recently our https://bestclassifiedsusa.com free classifieds USA website we move from www to non www format. Now old urls still showing in Google SERP. When click they show 404 error pages due to removed old ads.
We redirect www to non www version for main domain but still old cache pages affected.
How to dynamically handle this case, all old www version ads pages auto redirect to relevant category pages?

          Unsolved Redirect chain notification

          redirect chain

Hi, I start to use MOZ a few days ago.
Start the first project and after crawling get an error with a redirect chain like this https://nimb.ws/1Ex2v3
I am not sure what is the problem and how to solve it.
My page is Joomla 4 and for the redirect using Admintools Joomla extension
I am using .htaccess for redirecting from non-www to www RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\. [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L] and to https RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP:X-Forwarded-Proto} =http RewriteRule .* https://www.konveks.hr%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301] That exact configuration I have in my other domain domidona-it.hr and there don't have that issue.
Is anybody has a clue why MOZ show that problem on konveks.hr and not in domidona-it.hr.
          Thank you

          301 Redirect chain

          redirect chain https

I've got a redirect chain happening
http > https> https.www. I can't find how to fix this one. My site is on siteground which forces the https at server level and then onto cloudflare. Anyone have any ideas?

          301 redirects

Hello. Our site was recently rebuilt, and we switched from using index.php in all the urls to not using it at all. We also changed the names of many of our pages. So the urls have been renamed from "example.com/index.php/old_page_name/" to "example.com/new-page-name/". While we were at it, we changed from "_" to "-" as our word separators in the urls. In the .htaccess file, we have a small block of code that strips out "index.php/" from all requests. This code redirects a request for "example.com/index.php/old_page_name/" to "example.com/old_page_name/" For your information, the code that strips out "index.php/" is: RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^GET.index.php [NC]
          RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} !/uSZWTLna/.
RewriteRule (.?)index.php/(.*) /$1$2 [R=301,L] Then we have 301 redirects from "example.com/old_page_name/" to "example.com/new-page-name/" QUESTION 1: Is this two-step redirect approach okay, or would it be better to skip the separate index.php stripping code and simply have 301 redirects that include "index.php" in the urls? QUESTION 2: Will we lose some of the benefit of the links that have to pass through a 301 redirect? QUESTION 3: We have 50 or so redirects. Will this affect performance of the site? How many redirects does it take to start affecting performance? Thank you!

          Local SEO and Penguin

All, One of my client's sites was hit by Penguin. The business has lost almost all of its organic rankings but is still holding on for a handful of local searches for some of its satellite offices. We've built a new site and are slowly building domain authority. My question is this: at what point do I swap out the new site's location URL for the old URL in Google places? I don't want to risk the existing local placement which is all they have left for the time being. Thanks, John

          Subdomains & SEO

Exact match domains are great for ranking but what about domains which contain just half of the full phrase being targeted? eg. If you owned the domain rentals.co.uk but wanted to target the search term "car rentals" Regarding backlinks, would it be best to link back to your rentals.co.uk homepage (using anchor text "car rentals") or to one of the following: a) www.rentals.co.uk/car-rentals b) car.rentals.co.uk AND 301 redirect to www.rentals.co.uk c) car.rentals.co.uk AND 301 redirect to www.rentals.co.uk/car-rentals
